E-bay question on Active Content

I had this posted on the Q and A board but haven't got a response. I need to have someone explain to me what active content is. I have used the preview option in my auctions and most of them have a problem. What I need is for someone to look at one of my auctions and tell me what is wrong. I have attached a link to my auctions so if someone is willing to help me, the auctions are right there.
Thank You for your help
John

I'm a bit confused. Are you receiving an error message when you try to post the listing?
Everything on the linked auction looks ok to me. Maybe write down the error number and call eBay customer support (India) if that is the issue you're having.
Picked up from the web:
.
eBay Active content includes – JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins and form actions, which sellers usually use to enhance their listings and to power widgets, but it also comes with some security issues.
Common examples for active content are – “Scrolling galleries” of the sellers’ other items, live chat widgets, feedback widgets, search boxes, drop-down menus and more…
.
I assume your scrolling "auctiva store" content will have to go but I don't know with certainty. It depends what technology you're using.
Did you test using this?

I have no idea but will learn when others post their knowledge here

The link to your "see my other items does not work". From what I can understand they are limiting the email address links on seller ads in 2107. Say like a link to your PCGS registry set. There are only certain types of links thet will allow.Try googling Ebay active content. There are some discussions about what it means.
I think Lance hit the nail on the head... I believe eBay is trying to get rid of all moving stuff in the description area... Go to your eBay subscriptions and disable Auctiva and you should be in the clear.
Successful trades.... MichaelDixon,
everything appears OK. Was able to "view seller's other items."
Sometimes ebay will "suggest" things to make your auction better, i.e. more pics. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Maybe if you identify the "specific" problems they can be addressed.

The active content ban does not start until June...
Lance.
"Active content is used by many sellers today to provide interactivity, animation or video via JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins, and form actions in listings. As we mentioned last spring, active content can negatively impact the user experience by inhibiting mobile purchasing, creating longer load times, and increasing security vulnerabilities.
In light of these potential impacts we will phase out all active content on item pages beginning June, 2017. After that time, listings that include active content may no longer render as expected, and buyer experience may be impaired."
active content is their advertisements that show movies and suck up your keyboard entry when you are trying to type into the search.
Lance Thanks for the information. I will try to disable the active scroll and see if that takes care of it.
Thank Everyone
John
Probably can't have Anything "clickable" in a listing.
