Are you kidding me? Disgusting.

jwittenjwitten Posts: 5,311 ✭✭✭✭✭

I just had the most nasty package arrive. A coin was placed in 3 boxes. Outer box was priority mail box. Middle was a soap box. Inner was a CONDOM BOX. Who ships like that?!?

I'm all for reusing boxes (soap box was fine!). But you know what you are doing and touching when you get a condom out. It turns out this is a coin I sold a year or two ago to the guy, and re-bought it with a different buying account. Wonder if he used that one on purpose if he recognized my name.

Unorthodox packaging to be sure, but I am fairly confident your coin(s) arrived clean, and sans STD.

Just tell me it wasn't a silver eagle with milk spots....

The strangest packaging I've had is cut up cereal boxes for protection.

If I got the package you did I would boil the coin....

The first two I could live with. The third would be one I would have to use "extreme caution when handling. Hopefully your coin is the only thing inside the third. Never thought coin collecting would entail this sort of danger or risk.

It is actually the soap box that posed the greatest risk of damage to your coin due to residual molecules of the soap product. Be grateful that there was one more barrier between it and your coin. Hyper sensitive individuals cannot even walk down a soap aisle in a supermarket without their respiratory systems reacting to the "gassing" of chemicals from the soap products.
