Access

I'm beginning to suspect I've reached the point in my collecting career where access is starting to matter. I can think of the following guidelines to help improve access. Can folks suggest others?
- Be a good customer- buy what you say you will buy (be of your word), don't write bad checks, don't make a pest of yourself, and for God's sake, don't sport chisel.
- Demonstrate a consistent ability to punch at a certain level, e.g. if you're a regular buyer in the $2000-$6000 range, don't be disappointed if you get turned down for a first shot in the five figures.
- It's OK to return stuff now and then, especially if you have approval privileges, but don't make a habit of it.

I reached that point a while back, and even though I thought I had "access", my access was equal to, or often less than that of others, such that when nice coins in my area were available, it often became a feeding frenzy or competition between who replied first to an email. Among other things, this is one of the factors that resulted in my disenchantment with coin collecting and reduction in coin collecting activities.
Thanks RYK. That is good to know.
If you could always get every coin that you wanted, would it be as much fun?
I'd certainly run out of money faster.
