Ask Caddy about the pi$$ing match. They had been silent for about 1-2 weeks but just "had to" open their mouth up yesterday on my long gone post in this thread from Feb 20th - 2 weeks ago. I guess they were looking to start a fight before going on vacation cruise and dredged that up. My comments in last night's posts were about Caddy's latest Proof Barber pick ups from the Heritage auction. Seems fair game on a thread about Heritage newps. Since they were seeking inputs on their purchases (ie "who ran me up" and other such things) I provided some assistance.

Ouch. And for those that say the market is soft. I think it is just particular.
Some people must have liked that as a "probable" 68 upgrade. I can't fault them. It's very clean. If it stickers as a 68 too they'll make money. Seems like a lot of risk though paying weak to average 68 money for a coin that has to upgrade. MS67 was a tough grade to get back in the rattler days. Imagine how many have been cracked out shooting for 68's? Can't be many left. According to my June 1989 pops only about 100 of 1880-s MS67 rattlers were made. Maybe 5-10 at most remain?

Sold for $3,525.00. Interesting that HA put the CDN value, "CDN: $725", right in the description.

Price guide values don't really apply to people thinking upgrade, gold bean, pop top, etc. They are evaluating risk/reward ratio and bidding accordingly. If just 2 people that have to have it at any price....that's another story.

This thread was supposed to be about sharing new purchases from the recent auction.
How did it turn into a pi$$ing match?
