Post your oldest, still at PCGS coin submission

Hi all. I'm on business day 37 now with my 15 coin 1/4/17 economy submission. I just wanted to see how everyone else's subs and wait times are coming along. I've talked to a few people who have much larger submission submitted much later via economy and have already been through the system and back to their house. Is there any specific process to this? Do larger subs get priority? My fastest economy submission was 12 business days back in October 2016...

On a side note, I am thinking about making a chart with the average PCGS grading times throughout the year, from actual people's submissions, not what PCGS posts on their site. I would need a lot of information from other's submissions such as tier and entry date, grades entered date, etc.

Anyway, here's what I currently have on the 1/4/17 sub. Cheers!

I don't think you can blame the mail service. His submission is at PCGS with all dates of progress. Keep the faith.

If you are in Alaska, it could take a while to get mail to California.

    Holy smokes. That's awful.

  • I guess that's why bulk is so cheap!^^

My Reholder (5 business days) submission took 21 business days. Still don't have the coins though.

LOL, they stopped using dog sleds for this purpose last year. This guy can't be serious?!

When I send a package, regular mail, from WI to Hawaii, it is there 2 days later. Every time.

If you sent them in 2 weeks earlier, you would have had them back weeks ago. Why did you wait until the absolute peak of their busy season to submit? You realize they had to chug through almost 200K silver eagles for their bulk submitters in January right?

I had actually shipped this order out well around mid december. However, as we all know, PCGS takes up to a week sometimes too input the coins into the system. Such was my luck, as by December 24, PCGS was not open, and Until January fourth they were not.

That's my story. However, thank you for assuming my nonexistent ignorance!

I don't know what their ways of posting grade are. I guess coins submitted earlier are put on the back burner. I'm sure, at this pace, that my regular submission input today will be finished before my economy which I have been talking about.

Do they by any chance have trueviews?

Once again, wrong service level. Since we seem to love rhetorical questions, do you think an 1877-S half gets submitted under the modern tier?

Once again, you don't understand their logistics. It's not just graders. Have a nice day and remember to enjoy your coins.

FYI - those 200,000 silver eagles weren't in the modern tier either. So if you are going to make a snarky comment, at least be correct.

The PCGS turnaround time for Economy submissions has been as high as 42 days (business days) in the last few months. I've had some take 2 1/2 months.

This can hold them up a good number of days. I send mine under the standard holder and then send the keepers to a forum member who takes wonderful photos of them. So I save money in submission fees and get my coins back faster.

I have one or two in a secure modern submission that is over the 20 day max, and I think the TVs are the holdup. Just a guess though as moderns are usually turned pretty fast.

I had an express secure sub with a 1/30 recv'd date get shipped 2/3 so I'm not sure what happened there. This is when advertised express turn times were up to 19 days.

Today I had a regular order get done, and it was received after an express order, still sitting there! No trueviews, no attributes, just down and dirty grading baby!

Wow, what was your received date on that regular sub @Wabbit2313 ?

They just got a small 2 coin batch for a regular sub of mine today, no TVs or variety attribution.

The regular order on 2/10. Grades posted this morning. The 2/9 express is not done yet, and that one is also just down and dirty grading, nothing special.

Actually, as I look, the regular order was crossovers! Not sure why they would be faster? I have been happy with the turnaround times outside of economy the last few months. I does cost more but what are your tears worth to you? I no longer cry myself to sleep wondering where my coins are.

People seem to be forgetting that shows can impact grading times as well.
To say "37 business days" most likely does NOT take into account the shows in the meantime. FUN & Long Beach, right? Any Vegas show in between?

Subtract those out, and most likely looking around 30ish days, true? Give or take a day or two.

5 coin submission lincoln cents raw grading

    Checked in on Dec 2nd

Still in queue on Feb 24th

I think that's closing in on 60 business days
    Nearly 3 calendar months

This is why ive always claimed that pcgs does grading in random order
    Not first in first out
