Toned clad Roosevelts are extremely hard to find and that looks like a beauty! Are those the seller's pictures? I just looked at the listing on eBay and nothing looked anything like them. I suspect the coin will look more like your pic in hand though.

Interesting. The same coin just sold on eBay twice and I found the other listing. Better pictures make a big difference! My apologies.
Not to be a killjoy, but I do not like this coin. The colors, and the "planchet striations," look like they were created with the coin being "cooked" in a potato that was placed in a microwave. In the 1990s this look was created many times, and I bought 2 Kennedy Proof half dollars with the same look which were in holders. I have been watching this thread waiting on some of the guys who have been on the boards for years, but they have not responded. So....I decided to respond with my thoughts.

I honestly tried this method a while back and didnt get the same results, this coin i believe wasnt created that way considering the coin was in a collection for a while, i would like to hear from some other members here.

I'm wondering if your halves were silver?
I have seen silver baked potato coins with slightly similar looks (but more blue and purple mainly) but not on clad coins.
Not saying your point isn't valid, just that I've only seen the purple/blue color on the cooked coins.
Maybe they're using Peruvian golds now instead of Idahos...ltys
However, I will agree that on a second look the rev. of OPs coin kind of looks "off" with the blue patches/splotching and on the high points of laurel leaves.

The halves were 1972 P and D, with the identical look.

Looking for Top Pop Mercury Dime Varieties & High Grade Mercury Dime Toners.
The toning over the striations kinda gives it a "Northern Lights" look. Cool dime.
Omg it kind of does, that thought made it better
