Augustus Capricorn denarius

Hi all,

As many of you know I have been upgrading my 12 Caesars in silver collection. I am trying for all in VF or better. This makes 8/12. The other 4 are below VF but are still very nice IMHO. Until recently I only had a quinarius for Augustus. Well I have just added a nice denarius to the set. I have been wanting one of these for about a year but did not find the 'right' one until now. The flan is a little odd but the Capricorn is nice. I also really like the denarii of Augustus with the anepigraphic obverses very much so this one filled that need as well.

That's a pretty cool coin and always thought the project was well worthwhile. Do you have a link to the collection as it stands now? That would be interesting to see.

Thanks for your interest and your comments. Please find a link below to my Forvm gallery. It has all of my coins, but the link goes to my 12 Caesars specifically.

I just noticed you are a photographer. I am warning you, my photos are not very good.

Nice portrait and pretty good centering for an odd shaped flan. Nice pickup.

Thanks. I like the portrait and the capricorn so the misshapen flan does not bother me too much.
