NewP - Capped Bust Quarter

EagleguyEagleguy Posts: 2,264 ✭✭✭✭✭

I found my latest bust quarter acquisition at Harlan J. Berk via Collectors.com (which is a pretty handy website, btw). Credit to Mike Printz for the photo. I'll take my own photo when I get the chance, hopefully this weekend.

It was the last upgrade I needed to get all the reduced size (1831-38) bust quarters in AU grades. The rest of mine are here:
pcgs.com/setregistry/publishedset.aspx?s=85093

Please let me know what you think.

Cool clash, nice look, nice detail. Looks like die rust or pitting around UNITED STATES. I like it.

    Congratulations on the upgrade.
    A super set.

Enjoyed numismatic conversations with Eric P. Newman, Dave Akers, Jules Reiver, David Davis, Russ Logan, John McCloskey, Kirk Gorman, W. David Perkins...

All of the dies used in 1833 suffered die rust. Even the PCGS MS67 which is the top pop. from the Pogue Collection has die rust pimples on the surfaces.

    Eagleguy - well done !

I like that coin as well and was agonizing over purchasing it. Went back to the page a dozen times. Glad it rounds out your set
