Talk About Being Lucky.....USPS Rant?

So I don't usually like to rant, but my delivery today has got to be one for the books. So I had the pleasure of going to the dentist on the same day I have a package scheduled for delivery signature required. Most of my items go to my PO box, but one deliverer won't ship to my PO.
When I was pulling into my neighborhood, we have one of those communal mailboxes and the carrier was filling them. My wife got out and asked the carrier if he had gone to the houses yet for packages that required a signature, and he said no and that when he was done, he would do that. Great! So the mail carrier drives around to the other communal boxes and after some time had passed I saw that he drove back past my house on his way towards the exit gate.
So knowing that my tracking showed it out for delivery, my first thought was that he just went lazy and left it in my box. So I started walking down the street to the box where I see a white Priority Flat Rate envelope laying on the ground in the middle of the 4 way stop intersection. I start to walk out into traffic as 3 cars stop at the different stop signs all looking at me like I'm a psycho for walking in front of them. Sure enough....there's my name on the parcel.
So I look to the mailboxes and there the carrier is frantically looking through the back of his vehicle, tossing packages around(apparently looking for my parcel). I walked over to him and showed him my package and told him I needed to sign for it, and that I found it in the middle of the intersection on the ground. He didn't seem all that concerned with that fact, only saying oh good, I thought maybe I left it in the box.
Fortunately, there were no tire tracks on it. I would have come unglued. So glad I decided to walk down and check on it.

So, so very lucky!
I think that you should recount that CF to the dealer who won't ship to your P.O. Box, and tell him how lucky he is that he didn't have to file an insurance claim to the USPS.
