The article says the bank teller got suspicious when he was cashing checks from a gold dealer and being a mint employee....sloppy on his part....carelessness .... The mint did not even know it was missing gold...Cheers, RickO

Way too many way too quickly. Should not have done more than 5-6 a year, should've melted into smaller bars, etc. He stole 18 of these 7.4 ounce bars in 3 and a half months on top of several coins. If you're going to take that much don't cash in that much that quick or do larger transactions at once, one time a year. Sloppy work on his part, poopy gold aside.

I also got a kick out of the irony of the judge's name "Doody." LOL
