What are dealers paying for silver coins at shops now

Could anyone tell me what dealers are paying in coin stores, in general, at this time for circulated generic silver coins ( e.g. walking libs, Franklin halves, Washington quarters, Morgan and peace, etc. ) per face value?

Thanks for any help!

Most people don't consider Walkers, Morgans, or Peace dollars to be generic (junk silver). Those should carry a premium over spot even in VF grades. Check completed eBay listings to get a feel for this.

Beyond that, there isn't really any universal consensus on what people are paying. Usually, for actual junk silver they'll pay a few % back of spot, depending of course on quantity, the amount of drama associated with the transaction, availability of buyers, their current cash flow situation, etc. etc.

For most circulated silver, multiply 0.715 x face value to get ounces. Look up the current spot price and figure a little lower than this.

If you want to know what your local dealers are paying for your particular items the easiest thing would be to call them and ask. image

The above only shows a correlation to the spot price of silver. It proffers only a basis of relevance for the price of bulk 90% silver, which can have variable premium values on a dynamic basis to the market, based on a number of factors including quantities available, and denomination/type.

I see retail sale pricing for 90% presently hovering around the spot(ask) +$2 per ounce basis, using the conversion factor of .715 as general consideration for actual silver content per dollar of circ. 90%.

Purchase rates can vary widely, but I would expect to pay close to spot(bid) X .715 for small amounts of circ. 90%

with Silver @ $20 buyers will probably pay around $14.40 times face for 90 including Walkers.

In my experience, AJPM's buy prices are about the best you can expect from your local shop...

Yesterday afternoon, with silver just a hair under $20, I paid $14.5 x face for walkers and Franklins. The dealer I frequent has never charged me more for walkers vs Franklins and Kennedys. There have been a few times where half dollars have been about .5x more than quarters or dimes, but not in the last 4-6 months that I can recall.

Over melt? ($14.30) When you say buyers, do you mean people on the BST forum? I can't see shops paying over melt.
