At least the intrepid policeman didn't shoot her. Why would anyone - especially a kid - be arrested for a single counterfeit bill anyway? Unless you're printing them or have a large stash, seems pretty obvious that someone with a single bill was a unwitting victim rather than a criminal. Very sad that an A student is expelled and charged for a single fake $10 - may even ruin his life. I had a ticket scalper in Philly try to stick me with a fake $100 when he bought my extra concert ticket. Luckily I held it up and the hidden portrait was a Lincoln. Otherwise the bill looked and felt real- probably would have passed the marker test as well.
I have an uncut sheet of them. They would have called in a SWAT team and it would have been Nationwide news on Fox if she had tried to spend it!
I have one too. I am tempted to go to a bar and cut them off one at a time to leave tips.
I have done that at a restaurant. The bill was just under $40. I pulled out a four-subject sheet of $2's, cut off one note and gave the guy three uncut deuces. $6 is 15%, right?

Even if it had been a counterfeit, they act like the young girl printed it herself. Almost too hard to believe! And, I said almost. Coming from a person practicing baseball with my 11 year old son in a local park when two cruisers come flying up on the grass (With one totally sticking out his window with a gun pointed at me)! Told me someone called in a suspicious activity report on us. I can laugh now, but my son has changed his whole attitude towards police! They just go a little over board sometime! And, the way things are now I am glad I am white, because of how they were acting these cops were looking for trouble (They just came to the wrong place and I treated them with the utmost respect)!

Steve Wozniak, of Apple fame, has done this for years. He goes a step further and has perforations put between the bills for easier separation. The rumor is he prints them but that's part of the misunderstanding by the public about uncut sheets. Note the comment stating the Mint issues these.

My dad was traveling and decided to purchase some furniture. He asked the clerk if she would take an out of state check. She said, "Sure, with proper ID." My dad wrote the check and she looked at the check's address and said, "Um, Sir, we can't take a foreign check." It took him a couple of minutes to convince her that New Mexico was not a foreign country.

#2 someone should stand outside the school and offer $2 bills in change to students, just as a protest.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
