Does PCGS recognize the John Q. Adams pedigree?

  There are numerous coins from the JQA MA Historical Society Stack's sale in 1971 that are still paired with their tag and envelope from the Stack's sale.

  Zoins--Not to my knowledge I have tried to get a rather common Mexican medal attributed, without success. However, it was not plated in the sale, so even though I have the original auction flip, PCGS would not do it. They did tell me that they would do it for a coin, if clear evidence is presented of the coin and the auction, but I am not aware of their ever having done it. In fact, I think they told me they never did it. I think I started a thread on it, but I cannot find it.

  I have a Domitian brockage from the Adams collection, also from the JQA Historical Society Stack's sale. Unfortunately, the pedigree is much nicer than the coin!

  I would imagine that it would be pretty tough to attribute. Heck, PCGS does not accept other TPG attribution on First Strike and other "special" monikers...from what I understand...I have been wrong before.

  Here's my JQA --Massachusetts Historical Society coin. Unfortunately, with no plate, PCGS would not put the Massachusetts Historical Society sale on the holder. In addition, other, non JQA coins were sold in that sale as well, including Massachusetts Historical Society holdings, so another level of research would be necessary to tie the piece to JQA himself.
  
  Still, I imagine that this is a piece that the Adams family would have obtained and kept....for the memories, and for all of the reasons we collect as well. Kinda like collecting moderns 2 centuries ago.
