A new addition to my Great Britain Sovereign type set

I finally added the latest fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (that came out last year) to my GB One Sovereign set.
I'll go ahead and show my set in reverse chronological order with my recent addition first.
This set started out as a fun way to add a little gold to my holdings. The designs of the U.S. type gold weren't all that exciting to me and you just can't beat ol' St. George slaying a dragon!
But since I've started collecting these coins, I've really started to gain an appreciation for British coins. Who knows, there may be British silver and copper in my future!
One big omission from this set is the 1937 Proof only issue of King Geogre VI. Because of the high cost of this coin, it may be quite sometime before this 'box of twenty' is complete!

Sensitive topic, for that period. Edward VIII was a political problem for the UK not just over Mrs. Simpson but also due to his other un-Royal behaviors. Maybe even then, the British intelligence apparatus suspected his right-wing political leanings (my own speculation, no citation).

I have really never liked the older bust of QE 2 but the 2016 really is well done the bust is very much improved.

There were a few quite common colonial issues (BEA, BWA, Fiji, /new Guinea) made in his name (none with portrait however) and a very tiny number of 1937 dated UK pieces (patterns?). My old Seaby standard catalog indicates that an Edward VIII 1937 sovereign was sold in the mid 1980s for GBP 40k. So, it is theorically possible to get a full set of rulers from the introduction of the sovereign but is likely to be a tad pricey (LOL).
I have always loved sovereigns.
