a few people still haven't even sent their items in? if this gets delayed for a couple weeks like last time i will have a chipper, griffey, bonds, and miggy rcs to send in.
I have not heard from anyone that has outstanding packages since their post saying they'd participate so I'm assuming they aren't. I've sent emails and PMS and the list regardless goes to PSA Monday. I hope to have final approval by Friday but they've had the first sub list fit over a week and I'm still waiting. So how long it takes will depend on them but no, no more items will be included because they'll get the numbers Monday

derrick--i see that psa is changing how the blue flip cards are labeled...they're going to the generic "trading card" label instead of having the year and card manufacturer. will our cards suffer the same fate?

I suppose that change is so the NJ office can focus solely on autographs, and not have any of the staff there trained or qualified to be able to judge the authenticity of a card?

I'm just waiting to hear from one member regarding upcharges. But I'll start boxing items up tonight and finalizing paperwork. We should be off to PSA Friday afternoon. I'll also update final numbers on the OP as I box items up as well.

A side question. Would a signed ticket from an NFL be allowed for this type of flip in a future situation, or is it a more expensive ensapulation ? Not even sure they do, but I thought I heard they would do autographed tickets from events.

Blue flips always were meant to authenticate signature, not items. Nothing has changed its just the label now reads differently. But in the past there was no guarantee the medium the signature was on was authentic in a blue flip either - so I completely understand their shift in philosophy.

To each their own. I personally have never cared about the medium the signature is on - strictly the autograph itself so for me I prefer blue flip over a red flip.

I plan to cross all mine over to red anyway so it is no biggie. It is kind of odd the PSA has blue flip registry sets for cards not authenticated though.
Derrick---you're OG, and i love you for all the work you've done through the years with the blue flip...but had i known beforehand that all the cards were going to be labeled "trading card" i would've passed. as is, i won't be doing anymore blue flips. i understand it's a psa problem, and i just want to thank you for all the work and care you've put into this...the blue flips always coincide with tax season and having a sister that's an accountant i know how busy that can be. you are appreciated!
Thanks for the work, Derrick. I personally don't mind at all the blue flip philosophy. I always wondered about any 1952 Topps signed Mantle in a blue flip. It always led everyone to believe that the card was authentic just like the signature. That was not the case, even though the flip said "1952 Topps Mickey Mantle".
As for mine, I can't believe the Mattingly, Ripken, and Clemens were "questionable". Those are very real. Oh, well.

Does the red flip authenticate the signature and then also give the card a numerical grade as well?
You can have the card graded or labeled authentic. The latter is what I chose to do instead of blue flips. You can also get the auto either authenticated or now they grade them if you want.
just my opinion but maybe derrick can take over the red flips sub (maybe twice a year thingie). i know it costs more so maybe D is not up for it but with john so busy any help would be good.
i don't want my cards to have no label, nameless, space monkeys. he has a name, and his name was robert paulson!

Its allows you to choose dual grading or not.

Blue flips always were meant to authenticate signature, not items. Nothing has changed its just the label now reads differently. But in the past there was no guarantee the medium the signature was on was authentic in a blue flip either - so I completely understand their shift in philosophy.

As for mine, I can't believe the Mattingly, Ripken, and Clemens were "questionable". Those are very real. Oh, well.

Derrick---you're OG, and i love you for all the work you've done through the years with the blue flip...but had i known beforehand that all the cards were going to be labeled "trading card" i would've passed. as is, i won't be doing anymore blue flips. i understand it's a psa problem, and i just want to thank you for all the work and care you've put into this...the blue flips always coincide with tax season and having a sister that's an accountant i know how busy that can be. you are appreciated!

Does the red flip authenticate the signature and then also give the card a numerical grade as well?
You can have the card graded or labeled authentic. The latter is what I chose to do instead of blue flips. You can also get the auto either authenticated or now they grade them if you want.
hopefully the rest of the flip pops soon .
The flip is the label. A group of cards sent to PSA is a submission, or "sub."
i don't want my cards to have no label, nameless, space monkeys. he has a name, and his name was robert paulson!
