Are we putting a league together again?

I am the de facto commissioner, so I just got the email to reactivate the league.

I'll see if I can sort out the participants list from last year, but I would like to extend invites to those 16 first, and we can create a wait list for other interested parties.

We will need a treasurer. EchoCanyon was our treasurer/bursar last year.

I'm trying to figure out how to reactivate it. I somehow clicked "hide" on the renew button - and now I can't figure out how to reactivate.

Worst case scenario - we just copy and paste the settings in a new league.

This sounds good. Keep in my mind the last Sunday in March is Easter which my cause trouble for some.

Let's talk about money:

We need a treasurer/end of season money distributor. Feel free to volunteer.

What's a reasonable buy-in amount? $40?

We also need to determine payout. My proposal - 50% of the pot to the winner, 35% to second place, 15% to third place OR the best regular season record (assuming that guy doesn't finish first or second).

Agree with the distribution. Specifically I like the best regular season record the final 15% (which rewards season success and provides a safety net in case of an upset/bad week late in the year). If the best regular season record finishes in first or second the final 15% goes to the third place finisher (like you said).

Do you have people pay per transaction during the season or is the buy-in the only source of revenue? $40-$50 would work for me as a buy-in.

It's a lot of teams and a long season. To me paying 4 places makes the most sense, especially with playoffs. You take first or second place and lose two playoff games and you get zero - that's tough when late season injuries blow up a great team that you invested 6 months into.

I would do the 50% to the playoff champion, 35% to the runner up (second place or championship loser) and 15% to the best regular season record. I would pay the 15% to whoever has the best regular season record regardless of if that person finishes 1st or 2nd. If the person who has the best record also wins the championship then kudos to them and they should get both the prizes.

Maybe break it down like this:

1st - 50%

2nd - 30%

3rd - 10%

Best Record - 10%

Runner up $150
Third place $50
Regular season champ $150

$50 for season is sufficient I think, especially since it was just $25 last season. I would not want to add additional fees for transactions.

This seems to be an equitable distribution and it gives the opportunity for a large amount of people playing for as long as possible into the season.

We need everyone to at least set their lineups weekly~want to avoid any "ghost ship" teams over the second half of theseason.
