    That's cool!
We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

He probably wasn't thrilled at the fact he couldn't roll away before getting a hat smelted on his head? image

Looks like coin silver too as it's a match.

I like it. Would fit into my "Oddball set" of stuff like that.

I had a ZAR shilling once, where somebody had given Kruger a top hat and a pipe, but they didn't do as good a job as was done on your Kaiser Bill, there.

Yes, must've been quite the cottage industry. What I find interesting is the obvious added layer of metal. The ZAR Kruger piece I had was just carved. Can you elaborate on what these hats are made from? Any signs they might've once been other coins? Must've been a jeweler's work, I would imagine?

PS- Just stumbled across another ZAR Kruger piece on eBay, though it's a cutout and not an especially nice one. I note it's got the hat and pipe, though, as they usually seem to do. Never thought about them being Boer War trench art before, but I suppose that could very well be the case.
