  As repunched dates and mint marks sometimes run in clusters on U.S. coins, I would assume because a new employee in the Engraving Department was learning his trade, it could easily be that there are two different dies with repunched S's. I think you have a discovery here.

  This variety has been know for quite some years. I was finding them in the late 80's.
  I am told it is popular in the Philippines. It Comes in various types as the photos from others show. This variety is not an easy find.
