What's the lowest graded proof coin you've seen?

I use to own this 1873 25c ICGS PR58, but sold it.

I saw this PCGS 1880 50c graded PR55 (with CAC).

Proof coins can get into circulation until a collector spots and rescues them.

What is the lowest graded slab you've seen?

    I think 1836 PR $1....PR40 to PR20 range I think.

Makes me wonder how many people let this "Proof Only" key slip their fingers, and when was it discovered that this was something to hold on to. That PF08 looks quite a bit Finer than that...I would give it at least a F12.

Is the lowest grade 1894-s dime slabbed? It's in AG condition if I recall so it'd be something like PR-3

I picked a 1900-P Proof Morgan dollar from a dealer's junk bin for around $30 a few years ago. It was slabbed by our host company as PF50. I still own it. I accomplished something I always wanted to...picking a proof Morgan for melt (at the time). image

ANACS graded an 1895 Morgan as Proof-8/8 while I was there. Might be the same coin.

The 1894-S dimes are not, in my opinion, Proofs. Just Proof-Likes.

The date position is probably different for proofs and business strikes.

For PCGS, here's a PCGS PR04 CAC Gobrecht dollar. Insert photo courtesy of Northeast Coin. CoinFacts photo from our hosts. Nice to know these circulated.

Braddick has a PCGS PR02 1883 trade dollar but the old photos are offline now. Perhaps he can post it again?

Haven't run across any mentions of a PCGS PR01.

I don't know if he still has it, but at one time braddick had a very low grade (2 or 3?) proof Trade dollar that was certified. I realized I have shared this before on these boards, but here is my PR10 Gobrecht-

Send in that PR02 dollar for a CAC sticker. It's awfully smooth and damage-free for the grade!

For that coin CAC would need to invent a new red sticker to indicate it is low for the grade.
You don't want that coin going up in grade image

Not only do you not want it going up. You want it to be a downgrade candidate image

Not to change the subject, but I wonder if there are any chop marked Proof Trade Dollars out there.

Red sticker image Low for the grade. That's excellent.
