Nice looking rupee. How do you tell this is the earlier type of 20th centuy, not the later type? I can't find the small cross or dagger. Plus the AH date looks like 1193. I see the year 24. What is the 193 if not 1193?

The date text looks like "11903" but the first '1' is part of a larger letter, not the date, which is an AD year.

Thank you. I do see the 1903 now. Never saw the 9 and 0 so clearly before. Now, how about the location of the dagger or cross?

Mahdo Singh II was the ruler AD 1880-1922.

He did not put the cross or dagger on his coins.

His father Ram Singh (AD 1835-1880) did.
