I have one on my site listed as FS-101 on my resource page, but now you make me wonder if I am wrong...

I vote #4 (unless it is a real late die state I don't think it matches any)

i wondered about both of those.
images for these need to be a lot bigger. real tough imo.
i'm sure there is a resource that has what i/we need, i'm just not thinking of it just now.
i'd say it is more eds than lds cuz of the crispness of the splits on the serifs.
just great, now im even more confused.
my image would be better but the slab is one of these that causes odd lines when imaged.

The Authoritative Reference on Mercury Dimes
by John A. Wexler and Kevin Flynn from 2014.
Die Markers and Pretty Photos Are Shown.
John Wexler details 11 Different DDOs for the Date on his Website Here.
Pretty pictures included.
If you want to show more photos of your example, I'd be happy to help
try attribute it. Below is an example I used to own but then sold when
PCGS decided it was too minor to include in the Registry Set, even though
it was listed in the Cherrypickers' Guide (going to be moved to the cross
reference in the back of the book for the next edition.) The photo is
very old and from when I wasn't so sure of what I was doing.
Link to Image in New Window since this Website resizes everything smaller. UGH!
I photographed another one in an ICG MS65FB Holder but those images
were not great either and was different from the above example I used to own.
No matter which DDO yours turns out to be, there is very little premium
due to limited demand and it not being accepted by the PCGS Registry
Set.

I think part of the problem with the CPG and the 1937 was the fact they picked one of the most minor of the coins. I would think if they would have chose any reasonable doubled die instead of the coin with doubling on the designer's initials it would have been recognized. I sometimes think the coins in the CPG are simply coins the authors have, so they get in, while coin with more obvious varieties don't get in. The coin you show has as much doubling as the 1937-S, but it doesn't get in. Maybe you can give some input to the team now that you're part of it.

tyvm for the info and links.
will have to wait to digest it all.
i am bush-wacked just now. i wonder if the franklin guy chose his handle from how he felt after a bout with varieties.
edited to add. my coin is an ms67fb.

It was a strange situation that they chose to only show the Designer's
Initials for attribution of the coin(CPG). With that, interest factor will be
extremely low since not everyone carries a 100x in their pocket. I'm
sure that coin that they chose has fine doubling elsewhere but it just
was not shown.
I agree that if the strongest DDO for 1937 had been selected for
the 2009 book...along with the strongest photos of the strongest pick
up points, there would be a 1937 DDO in the PCGS Registry Set
right now.
As for recommendations for the next edition, due out next year, I did
not tackle the 1937 but submitted my other recommendations.
DIMEMAN also submitted his recommendations. Some on each list
were the same which is good news.
yet. I will meet up with a couple of the CPG folks at FUN and we
might even have conference calls and put in some solid work before
the end of January hopefully. With this thread shedding some light on
the 1937 DDO, I will try to make it a topic of discussion and see what
happens. In the interest of full disclosure, out of all 10 of the coins that
I recomended for the next edition, I only own one of the varieties so in
my case it does not come down to ONLY what I own...far from it. I
can certainly understand how that could potentially influence decisions
however.

bolivar, does your ddo #1 fs-101 have the TR gouge?
went through wexlers list a couple times and found not a single pup match. this could be explained by a die state variance.
i will either send it to wiles or wexler and/or post any pups on my coin i can find.
my coin seems to be fairly early and devoid of nealy any polishing/pups. will need to crawl over it one last time.
i am calling it fairly eds due to the uninterruption of metal flow lines from the center of the coin all the way to the rim and seemingly lack of pups. and here i thought this merc would be easy. HA!

Lance, Both of my examples have the die scratch that connects the T and the R in TRUST. Just like the Wexler link above.
