In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Is the top one off-center and the bottom one broadstruck? Both look like they have luster, but I don't know if they are MS or choice AU.
Ditto.
Both look MS62/63 to me. Nice pair.
In my mind, they are:
1888 - Off Center
1906 - Broadstruck, or Uncentered Broadstruck.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised, depending on what service they are,
that both are tagged as Broadstruck, or both are tagged as Off Center.
Both are NGC certified and attributed just "Broadstruck" on the label.
The 1888 as AU58 which is actually Off Center.
The 1906 as MS61 which is a Uncentered Broadstrike.
As FredWeinberg mentioned depending on which TPG service mint error attributions can be quite different.
I've seen some which I've traced research wise seen in upwards of 3 different TPG slabs with 3 completely different attribution on what kind of mint error it actually is.
