ERROR CODE 113 IN MY PROFILE

SteveSteve Posts: 3,312 ✭✭✭
The result of this is the date stamp showing for everyone's postings is FIVE hours ahead of my Eastern standard time. I cannot change this by using the -5 in the Profile. There are a couple of other errors in my profile also. ANY attempt by me to change data or add data in my profile results in reporting back error code 113. This situation has existed for me since the day the fusetalk program went live.

1. Does ANYONE else have this same problem?

2. Does ANYONE know how to correct it?

Thanks,

Steveimage

The fix for the time zone was to change the setting to anything else, save it, and then change it back to the correct time zone and save it again.

Of course if you cannot make changes this will not work, but give it a try.

I see the same error. My time zone is right, when I try to do the time zone adjust it doesn't work. According to one of the PCGS IT people it is an issue that the software vendor needs to fix.

I have the same issue with the timestamps and cannot change it to the correct time. I have tried multiple times and always receive the error, too.

Thanks guys for confirming my problem is being experienced by many others. I DO have links to my signature line that may also be a problem in attempting to correct my profile. Seems to me that after two months, our hosts should at least tell everyone publically that there are these problems and they are working with fusetalk to correct them asap. Steveimage

It looks like the fix is simple. If you have html code in your sig line you will get the error. I had that code in my sig line text. By removing it I was able to correct the time adjust to -6 and get the post time to jibe with my current time. If you have a link in your sigline, just redo it as if you were linking to a site in a post. Make sure it's http and not https or that you use the right link box.

I don't know/remember how I got the html code, but at the bottom of the profile page it says HTML code not permitted

You have HTML code somewhere in your profile page; most probably in your sig line text.

    YES, I do.

I don't want to give up the links to my Set Registry and my Virtual coin album. I'll live with the profile problem awhile and see what PCGS plans to do about it. Thanks for the input, guys. Steveimage

i am pretty sure it is an o/s, browser, version problem(s)

i am too busy but i'd love to see a thread for only those with issues to post their pc specs for some basic pattern recognition. i feel it is something very minor to fix most issues.

Did you try changing your time zone to a random zone and save it, and then go to the correct zone and save it?

    That worked for me.

Hey Lance, you should come visit me sometimes. I am in the US Minor Outlying Islands...at least as far as my PCGS profile is concerned. Before anyone asks, yes, I have attempted all manner of logical fixes (I am a PhD scientist) to change the time and location and this includes attempting to change my signature line. Alas, nothing has changed and I still get Error 113 and incorrect timestamps.

I went to the testing forum and tried to make a post that contained the text [HTML code included] of my old sig line.

Tried as a new thread, a quick post or quoting an existing post and got the same 113 error all 3 ways.

I won't nest more quotes since it will get awfully tough to read at some point. However, yes, I have some HTML in the signature line, but I can't remove it from the line. This isn't a case of I don't want to remove it, but rather a case of it won't allow me to edit it or, when it appears to allow me to edit, it won't save.

    Tom and TomB,

Tom has provided me with what appears to me to be the correct link coding to replace the stuff in my profile. I went to the testing forum and became concerned about attempting to change the stuff in my profile right now BECAUSE, after reading a number of responses in this thread I have become convinced that our hosts will eventually have to DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM. When they do, the fact that I changed or attempted to change the coding may have other replications to fixing it for me. I am NO IT expert by any means. I can live with the problems I have for awhile longer. Again, it is obvious to me that PCGS will need to do something soon or the message board issues will create other problems for their business. I think it is important that they announce publically here a plan to resolve this and how and when they plan to do it. PCGS is the leading third party grading service for a reason. They need to address these issues that have been stated in this thread.

Apparently, I am here permanently. image Single malt is fine; I have an early '50s Gibson and my daughters have also been taking lessons for about four years each. It will all be good.

By the way, the locked profile hasn't affected me at all aside from relocating my physical location so it doesn't matter to me if there is any fix in place.
