Hi all,

Up for grabs is a mint 2001 Topps heritage complete set 1-407 with all the black/red back variations plus the following insert sets:

new age performers
previews
Classic Renditions
Then and Now
checklists

I bought this on a whim a few years ago from a fellow board member. I'm looking to give it a better home.

    I'm just curious about the grading - on the OPC sets of this era the rough edges are not seen as a flaw? That would make sense, but I'm just asking.

    PSA does not, in my experience, downgrade an OPC card for rough edges. With all the sheet cut cards out there, I always am happy to see the rough cut on a Gretzky rookie. Some doctors have done well to mimic the rough cut, but the way it presents on this particular example is textbook for the way many came out of packs with a distinct rough left edge. Of course there are all sorts of other legit cuts you will see, but I like my Gretzky rookies looking like this...

    Thanks for the love, guys. I've been silent awhile and it's good to be back.

    It isn't far fetched, considering the blue lines on the back are a distinct variation. I think that one day there might be more effort to make an official distinction for the blue lines but then again who knows how it all works for officially creating a new variation.

    All I know is this card is in crystal clear focus and is a first print run. Both positive qualities for this card.
