1945 Micro S Mercury Dime question

I'm helping a friend sort through an inherited bunch of coins and have found about 10 rolls of 1945-s Mercury Dimes. Spot checking and I see some micro S versions. Question - are dealers or buyers paying much for these versus a regular 1945-s? Just wondering if I should sort out all the micro s dimes from the others. All the rolls appear to be decent circulated coins. Thanks for your feedback.

They worth more but as your question indicates...dealers are not going after circulated examples as they are too common.
I would suggest pulling all of them out, figuring a rough grade for each and then maybe do a group lot sale on eBay if that
    is the goal to sell.

    Good luck!

  • There are a lot of varieties in the Mercury dimes besides the micro S, you may want to look at coinfacts to see some of them.

    Building on what Christos said,

The Cherrypicker Guide would be easier to flip through as you go through the coins. Some of the varieties
are quite valuable....but mostly in Mint State. An AU 1941 DDO could serve you well. A 1919 DDO will
of course serve you much better. image The 1919 DDO is not in the CPG yet but will be in the version that
comes out in 1st Quarter 2016.

You can look at my site for some close up images of some to the varieties. Coneca's Variety Vista shows many of Cherrypicker varieties, too.

I would love to get my hands on some of the tougher ones even in circulated. Some of the varieties are very tough, others not so much. Good luck with the hunt if you decide to search for the varieties.
