How are Cherrypickers FS numbers assigned?

I see that there is another Cherrypickers guide by Fivaz & Stanton that has been released by Whitman.
Just how do you get an FS number assigned for a significant new variety?
Seems like it is a long error prone process.
Any thoughts?

  • There is coding in the front of the book which explains the numbering process, depending upon what the variety is RPM DDO, DDR etc.

I believe that I saw it within the first few pages of the CherryPicker's Guide. I don't have my copy in front of me and there is no PDF version that I am aware of. But it is a long and tedious process with several people working on it.

Get the coin on the radar of Bill Fivaz, J.T. Stanton, and
the book's editor(s), and convince them that it deserves to
be published as a CPG variety. If they agree, they'll assign
    it a Fivaz-Stanton number.

The variety has to be of a significant nature "for those that collect the series!

In other words, trying to get an FS Number on a difficult to determine variety which is in fact a valid variety but very minor in nature is simply a hopeless endeavor.

From what I understand, the CPG solicits "candidate" varieties from noted experts and groups in the variety field. Not all that are submitted are accepted.

A good example is the DDO-004/DDR-021 1971-S Eisenhower 40% Silver Dollar. A really strong variety but not one you'd see in the CPG.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
