Question about silver dollars

I'm coin ignorant, lol.I find them interesting but never got into serious collecting. So if my question is stupid I apologize.I was wondering what above face the Susan B. Anthony silver dollars are worth and if there's any key dates to look for?

I had several hundred tucked away and found them while I was looking for some pennies earlier.I had an ex-family member that was big into photography, more of a phase I guess, and there used to be a disposable camera vending machine that gave you back your change in silver dollars.I could've saved a few bucks going to Walgreens or a place like that but I found it cool that it gave back silver dollars. So I'd throw them in a popcorn tin every time I bought her a camera and was curious for some basic info on them.I know I could call a pawn type person but I know I'll get better honest info here. Thanks!
I really like serious people.

  • The Susan B Anthony coins are dollars, not silver dollars. They're clad which means they have a copper core and contain no silver. They're worth $1 unless it's the 1979-P Wide Rim variety or if the condition is flawless and would grade in a high MS (mint state) condition.
    I love the 3 P's: PB&J, PBR and PCGS.
  • Thank you for the info.I'll take a look through to see if there's any of that year.I think some are different designs so I'll check and see what there is. Thank you very much for answering my question! Like I said I'm coin ignorant, lol.

  • If any are dated 1935 or earlier, then they're 90% silver and worth $20 or more. If any are dated 1964, then you can buy a private island and retire.

This will show you the difference between the 1979-P narrow rim and wide rim dollars.

  • Thank you for the info.Isn't the 1964 illegal to own or something? I remember hearing or reading something about them a year or two ago.I could be off,but I thought I heard somewhere of a coin being illegal.

Yes, illegal to own. The aforementioned private island needs to not have an extradition agreement with the US.
