The phony 1858-S dime gets a rave review by the buyer image
It's only money !
Wondering when the buyer of the fake 1883 quarter from same seller will receive their "Here's your sign" award. image

Maybe the buyer and the seller are the same person. Maybe someone should notify the buyer?

Lots of different bids in dimes category by that underbidder w/48 FB rating. I gotta figure that was another "believer" image

If the guy was sharp enough to bid and win, he probably is really happy with his fake coin.

You can't get buyers ID's anymore to contact them. In the old days you could warn buyers, but eBay's new privacy features prevent that.

If you could tell someone they bought a fake coin and complained to the seller and gave him your user id - you could get kicked off for auction interference.

In the Ebay world, a seller Feedback rating of 98.8% is about borderline scammer. Anything <98.0% is get out of Dodge while you can.

I was reminded of this eBay seller after a guy proudly brought in a 1795 Two Leaves FH Dollar today for an offer. After I showed him the surface appearance of sintered metal and scaled it at 22.4 grams, he accepted my suggestion to take it back to the barn auction house in Finger Lakes Amish Country where he bought it. image

The semi-key date Seated dime and also the Barber dime (along with the Hawaiian dollar) are also all fake (with positive feedbacks).

Wow -- that scammer is doing some very clever things. The 2x2 holder with the old prices and the "old timey" conservative grading. The rusty staples.

    Phew.

image I think this is a new angle the rip off SOB's are using these days.

Hopefully the proud new owners of the fake '58-S dime and '83 quarter will visit a qualified, reputable dealer soon, and get a reality check. image
