Bought this on ebay for a pretty reasonable price, seller only showed the coin but when I opened the package I thought the flip added some coolness. Bowers and Ruddy Galleries, Inc He had another one listed a week later, kicking myself for not buying it as well.

Cool! I like these, this is my second one. The other one is an NGC MS65 RB, with nice toning I picked up several years ago.

CaptHenway do you know what ever happened to the original reverse die?

Nope. I assume it was lost, or Collis would have used both dies instead of doing a uniface strike.

I think these are pretty cool pieces. I bought a copper one from Bowers and Ruddy back when they had that group for $19 each.

There were either 22 or 27 silvers struck, I just bought my 3rd silver one.

Plus, I think there were 3 golds struck, don't have any of those.

Here are the mintages from CoinFacts.com

    Platinum (1)
    Lead (1)
    Gold (7)
    Silver (22)
    Copper (5,019)

Has anyone here ever seen the platinum, lead and gold ones?

Is the original die or the transfer die (or both) in the ANA museum?
