  Very cool- I get them from time to time but they are never that old- almost always 1958-D's.

  yes they are US coins that I have found in pocket change

  I still find cents from the 30s in change from time to time--80 years old. When I started collecting in the early 60s there were no coins that age in circulation; that would have been the 1880s. (Not counting the 1880s Morgans I got from my folks who brought them home from the casinos, where they were still used.) Occasionally got a V-nickel or Indian Head cent but never one dating back before 1900 in my recall.
  
  Of course none of the designs were 80 years old then.

  those are pretty nice change finds. i still get wheats in change. i do agree with Kaline6 that it's pretty remarkable these show up in change after so much time has passed. i usually get 1946 more than any other. i found a 46-S just the other day.
