Brother, can you spare a dime? Post your favorite dime.

I bought this on eBay 10 years ago and always thought it was very pretty. I sent it in and PCGS gave it a Questionable Color.
I posted it here a while back and a dealer recognized it from when he owned it. It was in an ANACS MS63 holder then.

So I guess this is my new favorite dime.

It's also prooflike, so much so that it looks like a 1950s era proof. Currently in an ANACS 66 holder:

You guys probably have much different tastes than me, and bettor photography skills. But, this is my newest coin and a big favorite.

How about a Roosevelt Dime with a die cud that makes Roosevelt look like Hitler. Because of the striking resemblance and the fact that they were both apart of the same era, it has become one of my favorites. It finally was sent in a couple months ago for grading and came back MS66. I guess I was real conservative on the grade then, and I know that there were a few people that told me that it was better than I thought it was. I guess they were right.image

  • Thanks. It's actually my worst coin (haha). I think that every coin that was carefully saved and preserved from the early mint has a story behind it, and that most of those lucky few were coins whose appearance was exceptional. This coin is unusual in that it is well-preserved but from a production perspective was the product of an overused and very broken die. Most terminal die state coins I've seen are of the highly circulated variety.
  • So I finally signed up Easton, I'm no longer just a lurker here. You might like this one as well...

Bustcollector - All I can say is you made my heart stop with the 1797 as that is one of my favorite draped bust and now you showed me another true love of mine is the 1827! Another true love for the bust capped dimes.
I don't know what to say... my heart is still recovering.......
In the meantime, welcome to the message boards - your knowledge of bust coinage will be helpful to the collector base.
BTW - why don't you collect bust quarters and dollars for a while and give me a break. LOL.
