NEWP: Istrus Drachm

ZoharZohar Posts: 6,713 ✭✭✭✭✭
4th Cen. BC, Moesia, Istrus, AR Drachm (18mm, 4.84g). Obv. Inverted heads. Rev. Sea eagle on dolphin. Perfectly centered and well struck with iridescent cabinet patina. NGC MS* Strike 5/5, Surface 5/5.

Common type yet tough to find well centered on both sides. Toning is a plus for me.

Very pretty. Small coin, but thick, compared to the stuff I collect.

In researching this type it seems to be scarcer as there are no control symbols on reverse.

I honestly do not know which side is nicer. Usually the obverse is off center or oddly worn and the reverse is so well struck that I am at a loss.
