Last night I thought that I heard someone in my garage. I went in the garage and looked around and did not see anyone. I opened the side door and looked outside and saw nothing. I came back into the garage and opened the garage door and walked down the drive. I saw nothing and came back inside the garage. Then I saw a man in my garage. I grabbed a 3 foot long medal rod and jabbed him in the stomach. He said " That is not hurting me" . I said " How about this". With that I took a hard swing with my right hand at his face. When my hand hit the headboard of our bed I woke up from my dream. My hand is very sore and I am typing this with my left fingers. The funny thing is that I am a lover and not a fighter. Post a coin that looks like it has been in a fight.

In effect, yes. Cut U.S. federal silver coins like this have been found in archaeological digs at old U. S. Army forts that were in operation in the latter half of the 19th-century, especially in the western territories.

Hoard the keys.
Started out as a white gem, the rest is history. People think it's an old coin and that I'm devaluing it by carrying it in my pocket.
I then explain it's nothing more than a .999 silver round. Good conversation piece.
EDIT: Still weighs 31 grams, kinda hard to believe.

They ran out of space for that. Trust me, it's been badly cleaned. Got darker after it lost a battle with a torch. Notice they left off the barcode to add more damage.
That one has since crumbled away to crumb-sized fragments in its flip within my detector finds album.
Edited to add: thankfully, the two Barber dimes I dug nearby were not similarly affected. One, a 1916, was lovely, and AU-ish.

My undying respect, for keeping that thing around all these years. You know how much I love it.
<< <i>I love the story in the op. I bet many of us have had similar experiences. >>
Indeed. But it's been a while since I beat myself up.

Too bad it was not on 'Old Hickory."
<< <i>My trusty pocket piece since sometime in 2006, goes with me everywhere, along side a Peace buck and a Morgan.

I knew there was something missing. That is the worst (best) graded coin I have ever seen - a definite winner!
