Dropped letter error or something else?

Please see UNUM. UNUM is now U UM/. It appears that part of the damaged/missing N has attached itself to the M. Is this a dropped letter or something else? Die chip ie.? Opinions?

Nope. It's a 1968-D just pulled from an OBW roll. She saw daylight for the first time in 47 years today!

Ms Morrisine is probably correct. A filled die error on the N and a small die dent to the right of UNUM.

Dropped letter error or something else?
