Need guidance - a bit frustrated on cross over

I recently submitted for cross over a 1910 E125 Jack Johnson graded SGC A - tabs were missing from the care. I stipulated any grade, and my results are:

Order #20903469 / Submission #10007053
1 1 N9: NOT GRADED No Spec Info, No Grade, No Charge Card

Now that typically means that PSA does not recognize the card as one they will grade. I need to speak with someone as PSA has graded many E125 baseball cards and this was already in an identified holder. So, my question is, "Do I start up the customer service chain?" or "Is there someone or a department that would handle this type of inquiry better?" This card is kind of a big deal (to me, at least) and I am perplexed at the response and lack of reach out by customer service in the first part. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I would keep trying until you get the desired result.

First thing I would do is call and ask them to hold the item so you have a few days to sort it out. Once it's shipped it makes the process so much more difficult. If you able to get them to hold it ask to speak to Veronica. She has been very helpful with these sort of things. I think there has been doe turnover in the customer service department. There are new names I don't recognize that give more scripted responses that sometimes don't end up being that helpful.

Too late - it has shipped. I'll start my calls tomorrow - I did get one name so far. I'm really hoping to get this handled. I appreciate all feedback from the board.

Good luck. Dealing with PSA can be frustrating, but if you keep trying you should get it slabbed.

I spoke with a very helpful woman this afternoon who explained that PSA had no active listing or documentation of an E125 Johnson and had no list of boxing subjects from a reputable catalogue. Therefore, no recognition by PSA. The SGC encapsulation carries little if any weight. If I can produce evidence of this being a known card from a known set by a reliable source, then PSA will weigh the evidence and approve. OK, I'll give it a shot with Adam Warshaw's book (I will also reach out to Adam)America's Great Boxing Cards and list several auction catalogues. Stay tuned. I must emphasize the professionalism and courtesy with which I was treated and (yes, I'm kissing butt a little bit), I do understand the general premise. Stay tuned.

I spent over a year "proving" that there were three separate versions of the 1967 Killebrew Punchout. I had to get the people at SCD to notify PSA that this was in fact the case. PSA then agreed and there were three in the Master set! All of a sudden, two of the three are no longer recognized as different and only one remains in the Master set.

I contacted PSA several times (re)pleading my case and was refused.

In the end, PSA will make their decision regardless of any outside evidence, in fact they sometimes even go against their own guidelines. It's their company, in the end they can do whatever they feel is best.
