Anyone ripping 2015 Topps Series 1 this week?

I have a jumbo case on the way from Dave & Adam's. Would love to pull the 1/1 Jackie Robinson Strata Cut Signature as one of my six autos. If not that, hopefully the case houses some nice serial numbered autos and not a bunch of Wilson Ramos and Dioner Navarro base autos.

Olbermann ripped the first box off the presses last night. Nice looking cards. A lot of guys not yet with teams yet. I may just do another year this year

Blasters again this year, to get the red & blue borders....if they even have them now that the base borders are marblized. Really not excited about the look this year. Never excited about sticker autos. However, I will trade everything I open for yankees base, SP, variation and parallels. The only other cars I keep are league leaders. Great way to fill in your set or get SPs from me if you need them.

I usually have a 2 year lag time in buying new issues. Will wait for the discounted sales. Won't be so disappointed if come up empty in hits.

Although I like the fact that they took the base design in a differnt direction from the boring one from the last few years I think it looks awful.

I wanted to really really like this series. But first impression is..meh. Maybe it'll grow on me. I'll end up buying a few boxes. Just not in a hurry.

Agreed - but as a base set collector, it must go into the collection.

Jumbo box arriving today and another snowstorm - perfect opportunity for ripping!

Just open two packs that I picked up form local Target. Nothing too exciting!! Don't feel the need to really buy any more. Tired of all the closeup photos of players. Were are the actions shots of someone sliding into 2nd base or home??

Bought a jumbo pack. I am a fan of the amount of base cards in the pack. I like the set.

I went over to Target today to pick up a few packs, and not only had literally EVERY retail pack they had out had been searched - most of them were actually OPENED. Between one retail box and a bottom-dispenser box, I found a couple dozen open packs, and even a few lose cards in the boxes that the person just got too lazy to actually put back in the packs. That's pretty bold, and a pretty poor job by loss prevention. I talked to the LP guy and he was going to review the videos, but really, a guy is sitting there for probably 30 minutes opening packs and you don't see it? Blasters it is, I guess.

List is too long and probably ever changing.
You can find variations with these hints:

Check codes in back if card....
    Base Cards end in 861
    Photo Variations end in 901
    Sparkle Variations end in 903

I started a trade thread in B/S/T forum if interested

I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach)

I bought a box (blaster, I think) from Target.

I was excited to get this card. I know it's probably not worth much, but I'll probably get it graded and it can sit next to his first Topps card.

Bought a couple boxes at Target to check them out and I personally can't stand the design, however, I think kids will love them, which is more important, I guess image

Did pull a sweet Jeff Bridges card. He's red hot right now in the media. Big movie, commercials, and an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. Hoping to get back, at least, a quarter on that one.

I ripped 2 hobby packs today. In hand I hate the base design even more than I expected to. However I pulled a cool looking insert. It's a foil/shiny card of jackie Robinson within a thick, black frame. I forget the name of the subset.

A lot of collectors seem to be giddy over the border, which seems to have blinded them on the most import feature...player photos. I've seen dozens of scans now and the pix have hat, elbow, glove, bat, hand, knee and anything else cut off. Not to mention the swamp like feel of some shots where the player seems to be sinking into the bordermire. This is a really odd year. It had good potential and some cards look really good, but imho a lot look odd with the cutoff pix

Not one of my favorite designs at all. A weak cross between 1989 and 1990

Not one of my favorites. Borders are too busy - and I like that 'bordermire' description by a previous poster - accurate.
