If you are a hoard type collector keep it for melt value. Someday you might accumulate a few pounds. I don't bother keeping any non key low grade 90% silver I happen upon because a handful of coins are not worth the hassle.

The way I see it, if you spend some of the older, less "usual" coins like partial date buffalos, AG Mercury dimes, and the like, there's at least some chance that a kid will get them in change, and the interest generated by receiving such a coin may create a new collector. Just a thought.
