100 table show today in Hot Springs, AR...great Toned Newps!

Hey, I had really good luck in finding some great toners! My pics stink but you might get some idea. Fun Show! Did anyone else go?

The photos are adequate enough to tell that some of the raw coins are artificially toned. Unless blowing money on problem coins is a favorite hobby it is imperative that collectors of toned coins have adequate ability to tell the difference between a legitimately toned example and an obvious problem coin.

As for the Hot Springs show, I won't be going this year. I went to this show in 2013. The good news is the convention center venue is nice and most of the dealers who set up there are not the dealers who normally travel the coin show tour so there is more exposure to new material. The bad news is until I spent an hour at that show it had been years since I had the opportunity to interact with such a collection of ignorant, short sighted, provincial, xenophobic people, even by coin people standards. Several people there were more curious about what language I spoke at home and what I normally eat for dinner than about what type of coins I was looking for at the show. That wasn't just at the show, it was the same way out on the town in Hot Springs and Little Rock.

Back to coins - I'm guessing that set is something Blanchard & Associates used to sell through one of their ads?

Looks to me like a roll of 1921-S Morgans.

Thanks Fade...it is an awesome set...problem free 63 to 65s. All of them have exceptional luster...I couldn't believe it in hand. The holder is ultra cool and most likely rare in and of itself. It is a pcgs first generation rattler quality plastic and "feel". The coins don't rattle at all though...lolThe bonus was the rainbowed Morgans! And the price? Let's just say somewhere south of $40 per coin.

Very nice pick ups and I also would have been tempted at 40 per. Any chance of better pics as is stated here all the time " it is impossible to grade a coin much less even talk about toned coins with out very good clear images"!

The holder is cool and a guy is selling a multi holder morgan set on the bay right now with some very high grade toners that even have a book on them.

Thanks! Yes, I will send them to a pro coin photographer in another State to take all the pics. I will post soon!

I go with the "Market Acceptable" argument on toning. Even though I have a decade of experience, viewing 2,000 toned coins per day on eBay almost every day, I trust PCGS/NGC. Four people making almost a million dollars a year in total with decades of experience with many 100,000s of coins is good enough for me. I do pretty well on raw coins too. I "make" about 90% success rate with PCGS and NGC when I submit my toners in MS or PF so I'm happy.
