…2 of my grandpa's passed away in November 2012 (3 weeks apart)…My Gramps who is on my step-mother's side was my numismatic inspiration. My Grandpopi as I called him was on my mother's side and he was an awesome photographer…he had little money when he passed on, but he had some photo stuff that went to my mother afterward. This Christmas after everyone was done opening gifts, my Ma pulled my to the side and said she had one more gift for me. She brought out a huge box of goodies…I was overwhelmed as I never expected to inherit this treasure as I suggested that my Ma keep it if she could afford to but if she needed the cash (which she somewhat did) that she should sell it off…well, here is my new treasure and hopefully my new hobby or at the least a new part of the numismatic hobby I currently practice
…I have no idea what I have but maybe the photo pro's can let me know…

…I also have about 3 or 4 different books that he owned, maybe I will post them later…thanks for looking!

One of images many taken with it.
<< <i>I'd keep everything but that macro, use the other stuff on vacations and whatnot, and sell the macro lens and put the money towards a better-suited macro for coin photography. >>
There's no macro lens there. The 50/1.8 is a normal lens for a full-frame camera. On the D90, it's a short telephoto. It'll be great for portraits, candid or otherwise, in a tight social setting. Shot at f1.8-f2.8, you'll have very little depth of field, which will isolate your subject nicely. Optics on it are outstanding.
The D90 is basically the replacement for the D80, which I used for 7 years before buying a D610 last year. It has an improved sensor over the D80 and adds video capability and perhaps some metering capability with old lenses. You'll likely enjoy it. I don't know what your budget is, but if you want to shoot coins, you should get a 105mm macro lens. There are inexpensive manual focus lenses listed here. The f2.8 lens will have a brighter display than the f4 lens. Both have outstanding optics. I have the f4 version of this lens.

I'd suggest buying David Busch's book on the D90 (not the field guide, unless you want that too) - it is a wealth of information on how to use the camera. Cost is not high - usually less than $20, but it will save you a lot of head scratching. Here is a link to Amazon

Hey I have a BPM also have to take it 3 times a day and keep a record, dam annoying. So what part of everything there was 500.00
Keep up the monitoring and get it down. I'm a stroke survivor and high pressure and cloistral can be killers.
