The 2015 Birth Set comes out tomorrow, and judging by the pictures on the Mint site, they are going to continue with the 1964 head style for the Kennedy half that was introduced for the 2014 special sets.
Yay!
Yay!

Me too but I thought this change was only for 2014?

It was supposed to be.
I guess I'll have to order one of these to see for myself.

My guess is that the 2015 rolls and uncirculated sets will have the same design as the early proofs. After going to all the trouble to restore the original design, it would make sense to continue using the improved version going forward.

True, but the mint often does things it doesn't make sense. Like introducing "S" uncirculated quarters 2 years into the ATB program.
At least mine does.
Anybody else order these?

They'll probably have to go through the same process again in 2064!
I'll get mine from the mint sets.
I would guess that if the restored obverse is being used for 2015, the restored reverse will be used also.
Mintage to date is just under 200,000.

I see no significant differences between the reverse of the standard 2014 Kennedy Half and the 50th Anniversary coin. Heck, I can't even see any minor differences.
Come to think of it, the US Mint Web Site states:
"Reverse: The design is based on the Presidential Seal and was done by U.S. Mint Sculptor–Engraver Frank Gasparro. It consists of a heraldic eagle with a shield on its breast, holding a symbolic olive branch and a bundle of 13 arrows. A ring of 50 stars surrounds the design, which gives this coin the distinction of having more stars than any other United States coin ever produced for circulation."
"Note: All other U.S. Mint 2014 Kennedy half–dollars that are not included in the K13, K14 and K15 sets share the common reverse described above, while the obverse features a strong but simple portrait of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy and the inscriptions “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
I take this to mean that no design changes were implemented for the Reverse design.

<< <i>Dang OD! How can you tell the difference in profile with that fuzzy pic? >>
Mainly the overall look. I was already collecting coins when the 1964 Kennedy half came out, and since then I've been following the series and its changing appearance over time. I saw the picture of the 2015 half on the Mint's web site, and had to enlarge it to determine which profile was being used (hence the fuzziness). If the picture had been much more fuzzy I wouldn't have been able to tell.
Kinda like when the Washington Quarter came out as a commemorative in 1932 and they decided to stick with the design.
