Trying another raw CBH attribution. 1832, O-114 R4? Grade opinions?

What do you think?
If I'm correct PCGS has these as R4+.

There is a very small lump at the throat crease that doesn't show on the smallish pic.
The A in America is higher than the M too.

How about grade? VF25?

i'd bet a vrf30 just for the eye appeal bump
as that's one sweet looking cbh there

surely an old light cleaning that's more then market acceptable
    like a "cir-cam" lite there
with wild flow in the obverse field

please update this when grades roll in

are you to add truview too as she's a glamour shot worthy example?

Yes, O.114 is right. It is scarcer variety at R4+. Usually the premiums don't start until R5, when the variety is then considered "rare", but some R4+ coins sell for slightly more than common varieties. One example I can think of now is 1818 O.115a.

I couldn't justify getting the coin certified, as I don't think the variety is worth any considerable premium, but then again it's not my coin so the decision is entirely up to you.

    lasvegasteddy -

Thanks for the compliments and grade opinion. I doubt it'll ever get submitted, however.

    BustHalfBrian -

Thanks for the confirmation and opinions. Appreciated.

The missing detail is strike related more than wear. Your coin looks to be a VF 35 without luster, but a 40 or 45 if some good luster remains. My coin is in a 45 holder (decent luster)

    Dave-

No luster to speak of. I can see it as a 35. I like your example, btw.

I want to compliment you and thank you for your site. I've been enjoying it.

    Nice looking coin
    I see it as a 35 also.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

Thanks and I am also not convinced of an R4 rating on this. Time will tell as interest grows demand will decide if this marriage is as scarce as thought currently. You seem to have a decent example that you should hold on to

This may not get answered buried here but I was wondering if the R scale ever changes?

Has anyone ever seen a change and if so, who does it.

I believe some rarity ratings were adjusted in the latest edition of Overton/Parsley.

I think AMBPR has the most accurate rarity ratings. I use that for reference most often.
