Mitch, I agree...it looks tough on these. I would LOVE to have a nice 70 set...the RP and enhanced look cool. The timing just isn't there for me right now, so that's why I kept the raw.
At least I didn't chase the rainbow for me on these personally. If that were the case, I would just purchase one of your sets on the BST as you have taken all the risks and done all the work.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

This result is not terribly surprising to me. As I alerted everyone who sent me a private email (with the detailed explanation why), this is to be expected, not the raw figures in the pop report.

    Enhanced Population Update

    image

Look at all the new designations. Label-steria seems to be taking over.

70 DMPL continues to be the rarest mint product for the Enhanced version in the set.

    Casman / ET AL,
I remember seeing that place on the coin before sending it off to PCGS. It looked to me as if the finish was a little darker in that spot (like the opposite of a break in the frost of a cameo coin) and of course the TV photo enhanced it - I do not believe it is a milk spot. You know as bad as I would have liked to have gotten more 70's, taking into account the quality and handling at the US mint with PCGS grading ( as Mitch is saying ) I was not shocked at the grades. I mean really, when you pick up a 69 coin you want to say "nice" and a 70 should be "wow" - I like that image Hence the reason we want an impartial persons opinion. In fact I am please with the grades and TV.

Just a quick personal note: I know there is much discussion on the Enhanced S minted coin, but my favorites are the RP and the closer to business strike the D mint coins. Also I chose the standard label, cause I do not like to turn the coin over to read the label - just a personal preference.

<< <i>Don't rub it in guys. I picked up another roughly 75 sets today and went 0/75. I am now at least just 1/250+ sets! Luck of the drawl here. But, this shows the type of standard being applied on these! Wondercoin >>

Naw - its' my keen sense of grading . . . NOPE! Just send in everything I had and hoped for the best .... image

Interesting... The NGC version of the Enhanced Kennedy DPL in 70 grade is driftly closer to the $500 mark on ebay now with the recent sales. I think we will need a few more PCGS sales before determining a reasonable current range of value on the PCGS DMPL coins.

I haven't made any pcgs dmpl's but made several Ngc dpls in 70
Ngc dpls are showing very good contrast --but it is deeper than pcgs pls

7/8 ... I have also created a pile of PCGS-MS70PL coins that are far nicer (depth of cameo) than the typical 70PL coin. So, far "that and 10 cents gets me a cup of coffee".

Mitch, we couldn't get them out. A bunch of the guys were trying as well. I know for sure we made it through 8 sets and I got so frustrated because the keys were scratching the capsules and making it harder to screen them.

Dr. Fish ... the butter knife works great for me as well. Except I can't seem to catch a DMPL on my line that way! Maybe the car keys is the trick to get 10% DMPL's! image

-Ah ha! Now I know why no DMPL for you. The secret is using a jackknife with a pointed blade to pop 'em out. One 70-DMPL in 95 ain't bad . . .

It probably was the butter knife that killed my chances image

BUT, if I hold on to my (1) coin long enough it might be worth the value of 2 or 3 coins today. It has already nearly doubled from about 4 weeks ago!!

I had bought 3 sets and picked out the very best individuals to send off.

    1 1 31387425 530169 2014-P 50C 50th Anniversary Set, Silver USA PR69DC
    2 1 31387426 530174 2014-W 50C 50th Anniversary Set, Silver, Reverse PR USA PR68
    3 1 31387427 534988 2014-S 50C 50th Anniversary Set, Silver, Enhanced Mint State USA MS69PL
    4 1 31387428 530179 2014-D 50C 50th Anniversary Set, Silver USA MS69

I'm not surprised. I thought the 2014-S might have a shot, but I knew the RP was not going to make it. I dislike RP's anyway - I think they are ugly.

I didn't bother to pay for First Strike or the special holder. I wonder how many other plain Janes there will be image

I had one of these that I posted the picture of on page 2 of this thread.

I sent it in with some others to PCGS, it came back as a 69PL. The front was spectacular as shown in the earlier picture, the back not so much.
