Shows you how successful an Ebay scam can be...
I could write a small book on this but will keep it short. I still am not sure how he did this
Here is our seller (who deleted his account last year):
Danny
As you can see this guy was selling all sorts of rare Morgans. He had UNC 86o, 79cc, but he LOVED to sell super high grade DMPL. He sold coins like 1882-cc in 65-66 dmpl, 82-s in 67 dmpl etc.
Go thru the pages of feedback. He sold for years with ZERO negative or neutral feedback. ZERO.
Ebay changed that you can't see a the Ebay ID of a buyer anymore but before he did that (I've been after this guy for over 3 years) you would of seen that the people leaving him feedback were established Ebay users. There are many that were also Ebay powersellers who bought some coins from him. Not a single negative feedback. -
He even sold TWO "MS" 1884-s for 11k each. I contacted many buyers back in the day (including one of the 1884-s buyers). They all were super happy about the coins they got. The odd thing? None ever graded them? So I bought a 1883-cc from him. I thought maybe I was paranoid and that this Danny Lee Fricker really was the real deal. A dream come true. Coin came. Artificial Frosting. I was right all along. The guy who bought that 11k 1884-s? I had the guy go get it graded. PCGS coin show said AU55-58 coin. The seller still said he was happy with the coin and that iwas MS62 'to him". I contacted 50 or so of his buyers and asked them to grade them or have them looked at it. They all said they loved his coins. It was like this guy had a spell on them.
So I made ZERO progress with him but I was not giving up. I was going to finally going to get somebody to listen and take this piece of crap out.
Well it took some time but here we go:
FINALLY
Now there is a seller on Ebay selling coins NOW (Including a MS 1886-o Morgan) who says that she is selling coins from the "Danny Lee Fricker" estate and that he died. He is alive. A new ID for this guy. He changes phone numbers all the time. He moves all around. Hell even this new Ebay seller usese the same pictures he did before. He is not dead. account, took a reset, and is now back on Ebay. Even after getting arrested for counterfeiting.

Where is the negative feedback you would have left him for selling you an artificially frosted 1883-CC Morgan?
How do you know he was arrested for counterfeiting and if so, what was the disposition of that charge?
Erik
Now listen boy, I'm tryin' to teach you sumthin' . . . . that ain't an optical illusion, it only looks like an optical illusion.
My mind reader refuses to charge me. . . . . . .
This operation is a fairly big raw coin con IMO: Text
The gold coins all "need to be graded" and they look peed on....
<< <i>Couple of quicks questions:
Where is the negative feedback you would have left him for selling you an artificially frosted 1883-CC Morgan?

1) I told him it was frosted and he said PCGS was a liar and then I left negative feedback and filed a claim. Within 10 minutes he told Ebay he agreed and that it was sent by mistake and he gave me full refund. Ebay took the feedback off and when I called to get an answer I got some long winded BS about they seek to "protect the buyer and maintain the integrity of our sellers".
So he feed them some BS story about sending the wrong coin and he refunded me so they let him be. Ebay was making a killing off him selling these coins.
I gave a reader's digest version because this story is like a freaking novel.
2) Well I have been contacting authorities for years on this guy. State cops have wanted to help but since he sells on ebay they said "We are limited and try Feds".
Feds did not give a crap.
Well I have a friend in Santa Clara who is a big collector and he is like me--we love to stop scams. My friend likes to get people selling fake craigslist scammers. He sets up buys with people selling fake silver and will tell cops to meet him there or sometimes go the bathroom and call cops and wait till they get there.
Well lets say that we finally got this guy. All that needs to be said for now.
I know that is his charge because I know. I believe it even says right on that report but might not.
My understanding is he bailed out Monday. I don't know charges yet.

I got the same thing on my computer and my Norton is always up to date with the latest and greatest. You need to run Norton on your machine. How about posting the text from the article?

When I clicked on the "FINALLY" link I was surprised to see an alert from my anti-virus program. I use Kaspersky. It noted that I had linked to something identified as "HEUR: Trojan.Script.Generic"
So, I am out of here for now.....

My Kaspersky software says your link to localcrimenews 'contain a trojan'
edit to say...ooops, I see wasn't exactly breaking any news.

Maybe, but I haven't had any other 'alarms' in at least six months.
