Support the ANA when you shop at Amazon
<< <i>Through the AmazonSmile program, you can designate the American Numismatic Association to receive (as a donation) 0.5% of the price of all Amazon purchases you make. Your purchase price remains the same, and there's no need to remember any codes — just follow the instructions at smile.amazon.com to sign up.
Once you've named the ANA as your non-profit of choice, shop Amazon via smile.amazon.com to make your purchases. If you're on the webpage for an Amazon product, you can replace www.amazon.com with smile.amazon.com in the URL to switch over to AmazonSmile.
Most Amazon products (except for subscription-based services) are eligible for donations through AmazonSmile. Google Chrome users may also want to install the SmileAlways browser extension.
The American Numismatic Association values your financial support, and we hope you'll join us on AmazonSmile as you make your future purchases. >>

glad i visited the link. i thought that the ANA was singled out to receive donations in lieu of other organizations and not on a list of choices. not that is matters if they did?
you had me taken aback for moment there.
actually for the fun of it i signed in to see what i could see. the ANA isnt' one of the default choices but yes, your point is obviously made as it wasn't expected that they would even be a choice.
numismatics is really stretching her arms the past few years.
i did find the ana under "american numismatics" and saw it is categorized as "museum & museum activities. fwiw
.
I guess without coins the starving children and people dying of disease wouldn't have anything to live for?
<< <i>That's true, you have to bypass all the starving children and medical research charities and type in the ANA as your charity of choice.

Would it not make more sense to send $10 to the charity of ones choice than to spend $2000 at Amazon to realize the same contribution.

Of course, but if you're already shopping at Amazon (or buying something that could be purchased at Amazon), this gives an opportunity to make a donation at the same time. I just bought a book and a new thermostat. Amazon had the lowest price on both, so I was shopping there anyway. It just happened that my favorite charity also got a small donation. Seems like a win-win.
