1888/7 Indian Head Cent?

What is going on at the last "8" here? I know it's likely nothing, but I am curious. I never have collected these.

    Why not? I am curious to see reasoning. I can't tell one way or another - but it looks like something suspicious is going on within the 8, and I believe I see the cud at 9 o'clock. Or maybe my eyes are just old - NAH, that can't be it. image OK may be.

    Yes, they are all right, definitely not, FS-301, Snow 1 (the only good one) always has the cud present on rim above TE in UNITED. Very tough variety

    Actually - at this grade, the cud is nearly always gone with just a slight imprint.

    This is what the overdate part of a 1888/7 cent looks like.

    The coin image posted by CoinWW2 shows something above the upper right side of the last 8.
    This area is not where the 1888/7 overdate occurs.
    It might be some other kind of repunched date, but it would take a better image to determine that.
