It's possible it was done by Bill Gallo an artist/cartoonist with the New York Daily News. Can't really make out the autograph towards the bottom,but the artwork resembles his work. I believe he goes back to at least the late 40's and up. Will try Wikpedia.

I don't believe it's the same artist? Igoe died in 1945 and DiMaggio was in the Army/WWII during that time. I don't think the "timing" fits the 'narrative' of the artwork.
Plus, the way he signs his art it totally different than what you have.

Upon seeing the close up of the auto. it's not Bill Gallo. But the artwork/style resembles Bill Gallos' work or vice versa. Much of his work is archived at Syracuse University according to a Wikpedia link to SU if you care to check it out.
