  I like the variety, but personally, I think you could have found a nicer example of the same grade with little effort.

  Nice coin! I Cherry Picked mine along with a 1891-O "E" and an
  !889-O "E" at a San Diego coin shop for a total of $45 in 1981.
  My first true CP's. My "Hot Lips" grades raw at best VF-35.

  That's AU53 or 55 wear wise. It's been net graded by PCGS for some reason, or they blew the grade. HotLips are not easy to grade, all have weak strikes. Look at some AU50 examples then look
  at the Eagles breast on yours.

  He is saying that unless this is also your first Morgan dollar, than this is not your first VAM. In other words, all Morgan dollars are VAMs. You just have to identify which VAM it is. Same with Peace dollars.

  Wear wise does not always have the luster to support the grade. That coin does not have the look of an AU coin and I don't think it would even CAC at the xf level. Some of the best doubling is on the leaves in here hair, cool coin that is a condition rarity.

  Nice pick for a Top 100 Vam and you do not have to take out your loop to see the intensive doubling.

  Probably correct with the luster comment. But that coin is AU all day long wear wise as a Hot Lips, which have different grading criteria. All Hot Lips are weakly struck, any with a hint of breast feather definition on the chest are AU graded, as I showed with the examples I posted above. The XF45's are flat on the breasts and the hair beside the ear on the obverse is also flatter than AU. The AU's are not flat. I've picked and traded and sold these for 10 years, so quite a bit of experience here.
  
  Bottom line, it's a very good pickup for the grade.
