O/T - CRAZY rain on Long Island. I hope everyone is OK.
384292611.jpg)
Overnight there was as much as 13" of rain that fell on parts of Long Island. That is 1.5" more than the average rainfall for ALL of June, July and August!!! Between 5:00am and 6:00am there was 5" of rain.
Luckily nobody I know was physically injured, but once again there is a lot of damage in some areas. My cousin just called and told me his Bulkhead was completely destroyed ... this is the same cousin who had to move his family out of his house for four months when Hurricane Sandy destroyed the entire first floor.
For all my fellow Long Islanders, I hope everyone is OK.

It was really bad going to work today. LIE closed at exit 63. I wondered why there were no cars on the road at 8am when I got on at exit 61, LOL. Flew to exit 56 where it was a dead stop. Luckily I was right by the on ramp which quickly became an off ramp. Got onto the Northern State which was fine to 110, but it was also closed further up. Somehow I made it in before 9am. You're commute must have been brutal.
I hear the LIRR was all messed up too.

A bunch of my wife's staff could not make it in, or it took hours. She had to turn around and skip a meeting at her main office as well, roads were closed everywhere...unreal.

<< <i>That's a lot of rain. Bulletmore had about 6" yesterday. >>
Daniel ... news reports said it was the most amount of rain Baltimore received since 1933 and the 2nd most since record keeping began in the late 1800's.

<< <i>Southern State was a nightmare >>
Take your pick (Southern State, Sunrise, LIE, Northern State, 110, 111, etc.), they all were bad. I was lucky that I was able too navigate my way around all the closures. I guess spending 40+ years here has its benefits.

Glad everyone is ok
when i went to the LIRR Ronk Branch to catch the 2:11 to NYC, there were at least three abandon cars in the middle of the road on the way there. Once there, the parking lot resembled a Saturday with all the empty spaces.

That is very cool CPA Mike. Let me know if you ever want to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee one day. We can pass the time discussing vintage baseball cards.
Wow.
It doesn't even rain that much in San Antonio.

Mikey ... a neighbor here also ... I'm in St. James. Starbucks? A few of us (one being CPAMIKE) go to Miller's Ale House every once in a while. Maybe you can join us. It's the only time any of us get the chance to talk about cards!!!!!
