bought those little cool lamp goose necks: Here on Ebay

Folded a one ply "shade" from a regular piece of copy paper and this is the first shot with my Point and Shoot.

Very pleased as it looks absolute like it does in hand.

Raise the lights, change them to look like this...and your coin will have more detail and be more evenly lit.

Bob that is looking really nice, just a little more light at the bottom and a touch more focus and your images will look even better. What point and shoot are you using? Let the people know man....

Take me a picture of a nice toner or DMPL, in the slab. For raw coins, a single white light will do the trick. It's those dirty slabs with a tough coin in them that foils me every time.

Wabbit +100 on that one as I am never sure what look to give those shinny proofs. Do you show them with the dark black pools or do you show the surface of the fields aarrrgggghhhh

This was the first shot and will adjust the lamp height and position.

Will try a toner in a slab.......wish me luck!

Here's a toner and it's spot on. Have a bit of reflections to figure out next. But the coin colors are quite accurate.

Oh, it's an older Canon A590is. If fact I liked it so much when I bought it that I bought a second one a year
or so later (at a much less cost) and put it on the shelf so when the first one quits I have a back up.

sob, i looked for it for a while too.

works out all around as i needed some images from some imaging thread anyway. so i guess i am thankfully annoyed just now.

I love to look at other peoples photography setup. It gives me ideas on how to make mine better.
My biggest issue is getting the lighting correct. Thanks for sharing!
