Women in Numismatics (WIN) still needs your support!

ThePennyLadyThePennyLady Posts: 4,495 ✭✭✭✭✭
Thank you to the MANY of you who have already helped support WIN, especially Rick Sear who generously bought $100 in raffle tickets! We have collected over $500 in tickets sales so far and there's still a couple weeks left, so be sure to get your 25/25-50 raffle tickets for TWO chances to win 25% of the total $$ collected, and the other 50% will help fund WIN's ANA Summer Seminar scholarship program.

Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be held on August 8 at the Chicago ANA World's Fair of Money - winners need not be present. Just email me if you'd like to purchase some tickets: charmy@thepennylady.com Thank you!

I see not this "donate" button on the WIN site. Has this button been removed?

Yes, PayPal made us remove it because they told us we cannot use PayPal for raffles. It's easy if you want to just send me a check and I'll send you the ticket stubs.

I expect to be able to complete the mission tomorrow when the checkbook returns. I shall send to the address on thePL website, or would you rather the WIN address?

I wish mine (the women in my family) were WIN…. They'd understand me…. as would the men if they were real MIN.

Didn't think you could use the US coins forum for selling either. Thought it had to be the BST?

I'll have a check in the mail Monday.
    It's a great cause.

So it looks as if keeping the WIN buttons from the Ford Administration may now pay off...

Seriously... nice and worthy effort- thanks

I'm surprised PayPal wouldn't let you use their button. They have no problem with donation buttons. Just tell them it's a donation.

Also, for future campaigns (because I hope this won't be WIN's last) check out Crowdtilt. They have free open source software you can build your own page or an entire website super fast. Crowdtilt hosting

For some trivia, the first fully consigned sale by a woman I know of is this one:

I know of earlier sales with consignments from women but not a full sale. Is it the earliest?

Thank you for the info. PayPal wouldn't let us receive money through PayPal because it was a raffle, not because it was a donation.

Right, so I would've told them it was a donation and left out the raffle part image
